Blood Filter 18 µm, Hemo-Nate®

A blood filter designed for microfiltration of blood, blood products, and other infusion solutions for neonatal patients. This single-use filter is made of stainless steel and effectively filters out microaggregates and particles that are 18 µm or larger.

Features and Benefits:

  • Blood breaks down during storage, which can create breakdown products (“microaggregates”) that affect lung function and can cause pneumonia.
  • Traditional 150 micron filters, intended for adults, do not protect neonates from fibrin-protein particles that can become trapped in the lung capillaries.
  • Hemo-Nate® uses an 18-micron stainless steel filter that effectively removes harmful blood components while allowing cellular blood components to pass through unharmed.
  • Hemo-Nate® is ideal for delivering small amounts of blood and blood products to multiple patients from a single unit, improving resource efficiency.
