C-LETZ® Conization Electrodes

We are a leading supplier of products for loop electrosurgical excision procedures (LEEP) in gynecological clinics. The C-LETZ® (Contoured Loop Excision of the Transformation Zone) loops enable fast, safe, and effective treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) directly in the clinic.

About the Electrodes
The electrodes come in four models with different contour designs (depth-to-radius ratios) for ectocervical and endocervical procedures. The contours follow a predictable pattern for CIN lesions. They are designed for lesions with both ectocervical and endocervical involvement. The electrode is centered in the cervical canal and rotated a full turn, requiring foot pedal control for precision. The electrodes are compatible with all generators and pens with a 2.4 mm fitting.

The C-LETZ electrode uses a 0.3 mm tungsten wire with high thermal conductivity and strength. This ensures precise dissection with minimal coagulation necrosis. Tissue specimens remain “native,” making histopathological diagnosis easier. A key advantage of C-LETZ is its tissue-sparing technique.

Total Procedure Time Under One Hour

The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia and usually does not require additional medication, meaning the total patient time is generally under one hour. This leads to significant cost savings compared to treatments performed in an operating room.

Clinical Studies
The use of this equipment from Utah Medical is well-documented in a Swedish prospective study (Acta Obstet. et Gynecol. 2006; 85: 218-223). The study reported a 90% healing rate in the treatment of 174 patients with CIN I-III.
