With a single sampling device and one procedure, you can effectively and accurately collect endocervical and ectocervical cells, as well as cells from the transformation zone. Our brush meets the highest standards for selection, cell volume, and quality. Today, Cervex-Brush® is the Gold Standard and market leader across the EU.

Benefits of Rovers® Cervex-Brush® Combi:
- HPV testing and cytology: Ideal for both conventional and liquid-based cytology
- Easy to use: High patient acceptance due to smooth and simple handling
- Efficient sampling: One device provides a representative sample
- Improved sampling: Optimal endocervical collection with just two 360-degree clockwise rotations
- Higher HPV yield: Significantly better collection of HPV-infected cells
- Increased cell yield: Provides 2–3 times more endocervical cells
- Better HPV detection: Enhanced detection of HPV type 18

Vaginal Sampling for HPV and Cells
Regular, methodical screening has been proven effective, and Sweden is among the leading countries in this field. Rovers Medical Devices, an innovative Dutch company, specializes in developing and producing efficient sampling tools for gynecology.
Clinical Studies
A Nordic comparative study (Järvi K, Cytopathology 1997, 8, 282–288) involving around 1,000 samples showed early on that the Cervex-Brush® collected more metaplastic cells compared to a standard brush (Cytobrush).
In January 2009, a Swedish study (Journal of the National Cancer Institute, 2009, 101:2, 88–99) reported that combining the Pap test and HPV test increased the detection of severe cervical lesions (CIN III+) by 30%. The Cervex-Brush® is now routinely used for both tests.
A Dutch study (Cytopathology 2006, 17, 374–381) documented that Cervex-Brush® achieves high yield from both ecto- and endocervical areas. It also confirmed the brush’s effectiveness for Pap testing, HPV quantification, and HPV genotyping. Both types of testing are now commonly performed with the Cervex-Brush Combi.
A 2016 study (Simonsen M et al, PLOS ONE, DOI: 10.1371/journal.pone.0164077, Oct 14, 2016) with over 1,000 patients showed that a single sample with Cervex-Brush Combi was more effective than combining a standard Cytobrush and a spatula. It provided greater endocervical cell yield and improved sensitivity in diagnosing CIN2+ in patients with cytologic HSIL diagnoses.
Unique Design for Optimal Cell Yield
The unique design of the Cervex-Brush Combi ensures efficient sampling of both endo- and ectocervical cells in a single step. The central microfilaments penetrate the endocervical canal while the outer bristles cover the entire ectocervical area, producing a representative sample from the entire transformation zone.
Simple and Effective Use
Insert the brush tip into the external os. Apply gentle pressure to the cervix until the side bristles bend, then rotate the brush 2 x 360° clockwise by rolling the handle between thumb and forefinger.
