PICC-Nate® – A Gentle Solution for Neonatal Vascular Access

PICC-Nate® is a centrally placed catheter inserted peripherally (PICC), specifically designed to protect the delicate tissues of newborns during vascular access.

The PICC-Nate® catheters and introducers are designed to minimize the strain on neonates and are available in several kit configurations, either as basic or complete pre-assembled procedure sets.

Designed to Promote Comfort and Safety:

  • The narrow and low-profile connection part reduces discomfort for the patient.
  • A reinforced connection part prevents catheter breakage.
  • Depth markings every centimeter allow for precise catheter placement.
  • Reduced catheter shaft diameters minimize puncture wound size.
  • The catheter’s barium sulfate-filled material provides radiopacity and facilitates fluoroscopic visualization.
  • A soft and durable silicone material in the shaft ensures tissue-friendly long-term care.
  • An alternative heat-sensitive polyurethane material offers easier insertion and softens after placement.

Suture Wing – For Secure and Gentle Fixation

PICC-Nate® is equipped with a unique suture wing that optimizes the attachment and reduces the risk of skin irritation. The design also simplifies the maintenance and hygiene of the insertion site.

Extended Connection Part

An extended hub facilitates access for healthcare professionals, eliminates the need for separate extension sets, and reduces skin strain during use.

Peel-away Introducers for Smooth Application

PICC-Nate® also offers introducers with a “peel-away” feature that simplifies insertion. These introducers can also be purchased separately.

Features Include:

  • Immediate confirmation of vessel penetration via a “Quick Flashback” channel.
  • Double-angled needle tips for precise vascular insertion.
  • Funnel-shaped entry to simplify catheter insertion.
